DIGITAL PORTFOLIO

Wayfinding Expertise

We have been involved in virtual reality and wayfinding for more than 17 years, with numerous mandates for major clients. Today, as digital solutions become increasingly sophisticated and encompass marketing initiatives, Designercity's pioneering kiosk expertise – and ability to integrate it with parallel technologies such as online and mobile – is being adopted by malls, airports, hotels and other major facilities.

HYSAN PLACE - Integrating online, social media, mobile and digital wayfinding, this solution embodies the principles of connected experiences. There are both retail and F&B kiosks. SHANGHAI IFC MALL - This project incorporates search and map navigation features for both the shopping mall and offices above. Usability and simplicity are key, incorporating the latest artificial intelligence technology. SWIRE PROPERTIES – ISLAND EAST - Our solution for Swire Properties' office and retail complex in Taikoo Shing allows you to select the style of dining you prefer and indicates the outlets available in the closest building. HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT - Core to our 10 year+ relationship with HKIA is the creation of their website, which has to function seamlessly 24/7. Wayfinding is another aspect of keeping the 'World's Best Airport' running smoothly. ELEMENTS MALL - Covering retail, dining, location and parking, our mobile app for Elements mall keeps important information handy and usable. WAYFINDING TODAY - The wayfinding kiosk used to be just a directory. Now it can plot routes, carry advertising and be the hub for eCoupon distribution – a dynamic component of your cross-channel marketing strategy. WAYFINDING HERITAGE - 3D EXPERTISE (I) - In 1996 Designercity won the Arsenal Football Club account and created the first virtual walk-round of Highbury Stadium, giving fans their first glimpse behind the locked doors. WAYFINDING HERITAGE - 3D EXPERTISE (II) - In 1997 we created a virtual store for Tesco, the biggest supermarket chain in the UK. It demonstrated that the online shopping experience in a virtual environment could be a close mimic of the real one – a major innovation beyond 'bookshelf browsing'. WAYFINDING HERITAGE - 3D EXPERTISE (III) - In the late 90s, our 3D visualising skills were in demand from fashion retailers and real estate developers. This became the foundation of mandates incorporating 3D modeling and ultimately wayfinding.
